After migrating my freelance into a joint venture with friends, I’ve let my personal site, what used to be my online portfolio, fall by the wayside. With the start of the New Year, and all the excitement of others forming New Year’s resolutions, I thought this would be a good time to commit to one of my own.

My New Year’s resolution is to create more personal work.

With this new personal work, it also gives my site a new purpose. The question is, what is this new content going to be? I found my inspiration from an episode of QI; which was themed around Cockney rhyming slang (relevant part stops at ~6:30):

I’ve always been a fan of cryptography, and this bit of argot absolutely captivates me. With Cockney rhyming slang as inspiration, I’ve decided to create a series of Cockney wallpapers.

In the past 7 days, from when I decided to take on this project, I’ve updated my website’s theme, and created my first Cockney wallpaper to kick off this series.

I plan to have at least 52 Cockney pieces done this year, one for each week; with the first posted today, January 7, 2015.

Excellent resolution! I’m proud that you are challenging yourself on this creative journey. As an artist who has done a similar resolution, I can only tell you that if you stick with it, you will come to learn a lot about yourself, and only good things come from it. Inspiring!
